Heather + Tyler : An NYC Black Tie Affair Transported to the Shores of Lake Winnipesaukee
Heather & Tyler are high school sweethearts. THAT EXISTS STILL!!! THEY WENT TO PROM TOGETHER!
The day we did their engagement session it was BLATANTLY apparent they weren’t just two people who got together in HS and stayed together because they had to. Their love is LONG LASTING and the PALPABLE. They literally couldn’t keep their hands off each other!! Also, they both are such KIND AND GENEROUS humans.
They both hail from New York, and growing up had spent time together on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH during the summer. Choosing the Lakeview Inn Bed & Breakfast as their wedding location was a no brainer. It allowed them to decorate minimally and emphasize the natural beauty of their venue while bringing their loved ones to celebrate in the beauty of New Hampshire.
H&T’s wedding day was especially tailored to them to include all the special details honoring their lifetime of love and friendship. Heather also designed the elegant monogram featured on the embroidered napkins, their beautiful invite and the banner that hung behind their cake; she also designed their wedding invitations! SO ELEGANT.
Their wedding date was extremly special because it marked the anniversary of Tyler’s father’s passing just two years before. Getting married on his birthday was a beautiful way to honor him and the legacy he created for his family. Heather also designed the elegant monogram featured on the embroidered napkins, stationery suite, and the banner that hung behind their cake; she also designed their wedding invitations! ELEGANT.
Taylor & his groomsmen got ready in the barn adjacent to the large house, where they had beers, fixed bowties and hyped up Tyler as he transcribed his vows from his phone into his vow book! This space is bright and modern with plenty of light and sliding class door. The patio right outside is surrouded by beautiful foliage and a view of the lake.
Tyler wore a blue tux with a black bowtie and black tuxedo stripe on the pants detail. The groomsmen were fitted in black tuxes which looked REALLY GOOD next to the metallic satin bridesmaid dresses. The colors were soft pastels with bright pink and light blue accents.
Heather got ready overlooking the lake inside the Inn. The gorgeous wooden built-ins and historic details really brought a sense of elegance to the space. The large windows were let in the perfect amount of light despite it being overcast! Personal bridal details included Heather’s sleeves and veil, which were taken from her mother’s wedding dress and tailored into bespoke accessories by @keriannemeehannewyork.
After her mum and MOH helped with the sleeves and the shoes Heather did a quick reveal for her bridesmaids and everyone gushed over how beautiful everything was!! Satin bridesmaids dresses really helped the cream ball gown pop and the cathedral length veil made from her mother’s gown Heather was serving timeless STUNNING bridal!
Heather’s understated bouqets from @bfeiag was the perfect blend of neutrals that POPPED against the silk bridesmaids dresses and the mountain views during the ceremony.
View for the ceremony. Even with the overcast weather it looks lovely.
Heather’s father walked her down the aisle filled with rose petals. The pew-style benches gave an elevated feel to the whole ceremony, as though nature had become their cathedral!
Instead of a traditional arbor, Moonset Florals created a beautiful ground arbor so the views of the lake wouldn’t be blocked at all! The contrast of color in the florals to the monochrome of the girl’s bouquets was STUNNING Y’ALL!.

They each wrote their own vows and couldn’t help but give each other a big hug after they were each finished with vows!!! For the first kiss, Tyler did the most PHENOMENAL DIP of all time, recreating their prom photo perfectly but WEDDING STYLE!! They were prounouced MARRIED and we all got wicked excited. Couple’s and Family photos happened right after the ceremony while guests enjoyed cocktails!
Tyler was sweet enough to help his WIFE go sleeve less! This is the awesome versatility of accessories, as soon as you switch it up the whole look can change! We also took some photos on the swing and in the gazebo to utilize all of the grogeous properties ameneties!
ON TO THE RECEPTION!!!!
I LOVE A TENTED RECEPTION! MY FAVE! Also this hand painted Welcome sign is one of the most unique pieces of signage I’ve seen. That combined with the gorgeous cloth seating chart really invited the guests to enjoy the space.
The custom napkins and minimal settings made it easy for conversations to flow across the table! NEW FAVORITE THING is repurposing your ceremony flowers for the reception. LIKE LOOK HOW FORKING ELEGANT AND GORGEOUS is the arbor piece in front of the sweetheart table?!?!? IM DYING.
Another fun thing H&T added was a great conversation space that was also where they placed their AUDIO guest book. SO MANY beautiful moments happened on these couches over the course of the evening.
The wedding party danced on into the reception and the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Seger were announced and shared their first dance as husband and wife!!! Tyler then gave a wonderful thank you/welcome speech to all the guests before dinner was served.
THE FIRST WARDROBE CHANGE came before speeches, when Heather left the embroidered pearls for the most DRAMATIC AND GORGEOUS PUFFED SLEEVES. The sleeves Anne of Green Gables WISHED she had. ELEGANT. SATIN. PERFECTION. As the BM and MOH gave their speeches giggles and laughter erupted from the crowd.
FRONT FLASH RING SHOT PUFFY SLEEVE INCOMING:
Parent dances came after dinner followed by speeches by the wedding party! THE SLEEVES THOUGH. After dancing with their respective parents, the dance floor was OPEN!!! I don’t think it emptied at ALL the entire night! Also, MORE THAN ONE DOG dogs ended up on the dance floor.
COMPLETE WARDROBE CHANGE!!!!!! Heather boped out right before the cake cutting, changing into a tulle tutu inspired mini with a sweetheart strapless neckline and deep cut V detailing!! She paired it with sneakers and I SWOONED!!
How fun is this traditional cake with the old school lace topper? It was also a DELICIOUS CAKE. ALSO PSA: Bouquet tosses can be really really fun if a ton of your friends are not yet married and very much want to be.
Enjoy the rest of this PARTY which ended with “New York, New York" as the fitting and final song where everyone gathered in a circle and did the swing kick. PERFECTION.
