An Inclusive Styled Shoot in Acadia National Park

I was SO FORKING LUCKY to be a part of a great workshop in May led my Ameila Marie Photography. Armed with ONLY analog equipment (so scary to have no digital backup) the first day of shooting was A DREAM. With a Mamiya 645 Super and a Pentax K1000, I experienced a TROVE of lessons. From what ISO is best to realizing the tenacious nature of sand, every "mishap" turned into a valuable learning experience.

The day began at a cozy Airbnb in Ellsworth, where we shot the details and "first look". While Ashley waited for Carly to be ready we watched seagulls drop mussels outside the window. They drop them on the rocks so they can get to the food inside. Dope. It was pretty entertaining.

Carly came out in her a romantic flowing dress and unique jewelry. The set up felt real as these two have so much chemistry it was OOZING off them! After getting ready we headed to Acadia National Park for the main shoot!

The location was forking gorgeous!! We all hiked up a short trail, traversing a small river, to reach a stunning viewpoint overlooking the ocean. Ashley pulled a prank, pretending to propose to Carly during their "vows". It was hilarious and in good fun. Can you believe that Carly is actually reciting the words to Smash Mouth's "All Star" in the vow photos??

On the beach we did portrait sessions with the gorgeous waves in the background!! During the shoot, a seagull I named Samuel became a part of our shoot. He was a fun birb very interested in our activities.

Ashley & Carly next enjoyed some nomsss !! They sat at a low picnic table with a sage and gold inspired tablescape. The charcuterie board was full of delicious meats and cheeses. To top it off they fed each other chocolate covered strawberries from the dessert platter!!!

Our last spot was a rocky AF cliff. It was windy and cloudy and damn were the girls troopers. I kinda wish I’d brough a longer lens out but we were only out there for maybe 10 mins? It was sooooo pretty.

All in all, day one was a SUCCESS.
